Retail Clerk/Cashier

(Full time/Part time)

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide exceptional customer service
  • Ensure accurate product scanning
  • Maintain product displays

Qualifications and Skills

  • Able to stand for long periods of time
  • Able to lift a minimum of 20lbs
  • Basic knowledge of POS systems an asset

Produce Clerk

(Full time/Part time)

The Old Country Market Produce Department is looking for responsible, hard working and friendly individuals. We are well known for excellent quality, prices, and customer service. Any candidates must be willing to work in an outdoor setting, provide excellent customer service, and be comfortable lifting up to 50lb on a regular basis.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Operating a cash register
  • Customer service
  • Unloading freight
  • Attaining product knowledge
  • Packaging and sorting product
  • Maintaining a clean workspace
  • Must work well with a strong team of coworkers in a fast paced environment

Cashier experience is not required to apply, as we will train on site. Customer service skills and an eagerness to learn new skills are assets.

  • Driver’s Licence (Preferred)

Deli Clerk

(Full time/Part time)

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Providing exceptional customer service
  • Attaining product knowledge
  • Operating meat and cheese slicers, scales and other deli equipment
  • Filling, maintaining and rotating products and displays
  • Accurately stocking shelves, facing up stock and managing signage
  • Maintaining a clean work environment

Prep Cook/Dishwasher

(Full time/Part time)

The restaurant at The Old Country Market is a very busy establishment and tourist destination, reaching peak business in the summer months. We offer a competitive salary and opportunities to grow within our company and cross train in various departments. The dishwasher/prep cook role will be responsible in cleaning high volumes of dishes as well as adding the restaurant in simple prep. If the restaurant industry is something you are interested in for a career, teaching and training may be provided through one of our Red Seal chefs.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Wash and sort dishes that are placed in the dish cleaning area.
  • Assist with basic food prep.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Must be able to work well with others to help create a friendly work environment.
  • Need to be able to stand for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced, high stress environment.
  • Must have a reliable source for transportation to work.
  • Must have Food Safe.

Bakery Assistant

(Full time/Part time)

Job Summary

  • A passion for baking is a must
  • Creativity
  • A basic knowledge of pricing products is an asset
  • Worker must be available for hours needed
  • Must be willing to teach and share knowledge of baking
  • Applicants should be prepared and available for afternoon and graveyard shifts

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Prepare doughs and batters
  • Bake mixed dough and batters
  • Frost and decorate cakes and baked goods
  • Share recipes with the business and prepare recipes developed by the business
  • Ensure that the quality of products meets established standard.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. frequently
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time

Qualifications and Skills

  • Education-Completion of high school, some college/CEGEP/vocational or technical training, some university.
